LHV Bank's summer celebration started with outdoor cocktails, then moved inside D3's main hall for the afterparty. The headliner was South African house DJ Themba—known for deep, melodic sets at Tomorrowland and Ultra.
The creative direction was "urban jungle." The client wanted an organic, immersive atmosphere inside an industrial venue that complemented Themba's sophisticated house aesthetic. Natural meets futuristic. Jungle meets nightclub.
Blade Runner's Garden
I pulled inspiration from Ridley Scott's Blade Runner, but lighter—less dystopian. The idea was blending organic forms with tech elements to create a vibrant urban jungle rather than a dark one.
The design centered on transparent LED cubes suspended above the crowd—floating geometric forms contrasting with organic movement. Each cube had fog cannons inside, releasing downward bursts at musical peaks. Color palettes shifted from deep oranges and greens (jungle) to vibrant purples and cyans (urban). Custom RGB pixel tape outlined architectural elements for wraparound immersion.
Equipment:
- Transparent LED screen modules (configured as cube forms)
- 3x ADJ Fury Jett fog cannons (integrated into cubes)
- Acme Orion (moving heads)
- Acme Pixel Line IP (architectural lighting)
- Acme Eyeflash 2 RGB (audience lighting)
- Acme Oxygen (wash fixtures)
- Astera AX1 Pixel Tubes (accent lighting)
- Custom RGB pixel LED tape (architectural outlining)
- Chamsys MagicQ console

The Cube Problem
The most complex piece was creating safe, suspended cube structures from transparent LED modules with integrated fog cannons.
Each cube needed to maintain structural integrity while appearing lightweight and floating, house an ADJ Fury Jett pointing downward, allow fog to burst through the LED, and meet venue safety requirements for overhead installations.
I designed an aluminum truss system supporting the LED modules while securely mounting the Fury Jetts inside. The transparent LED screens meant fog could shoot directly down from inside the display—creating moments where the cubes appeared to "breathe" smoke into the crowd at musical peaks.
The suspended cubes became the focal point. Guests gathered beneath them during fog bursts. Social media posts from the event featured the installations prominently, with people commenting on the unique "floating screens" effect.
